National Night Out Demonstration – August, 2019
National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
The Order of Isshin-Ryu Elkton Dojo recently participated in a local National Night Out in their area by performing a karate demonstration.
The demonstration included dives and rolls, a group performance of Wansu Kata, self-defense techniques and applications from Wansu kata, a group performance of a Bo Kata, techniques of weapons against one another (Bo, Sai, and Tui-fa), Kumite (sparring), and board breaking. The grand finale of the demonstration included Sensei Harris breaking concrete caps and Sensei Waldridge performing a 4-board combination break.
Great job everyone! ⛩
